On Sept. 5th, 2009 the Village of Dundee sent out a survey in regard to communication. An overwhelming response was received and some great ideas were shared.
We would like to share the results with everyone. Of coarse, no personal information will be placed on the website and are only used internally to enhance our ability to see what people are looking for.
#1) How satisfied are you with our website? 57.7% of respondents indicated they were very satisfied 26.6% of respondents indicated they were somewhat satisfied 17.7% said they were neutral 2.2% said they were very dissatisfied
Comments Received: * It would be great if any village related payments such as water could be paid via the website. * Nice Job Greg! * I haven't used it enough yet to have an opinion. * Haven't had a chance to really look at it yet. * good work * I like the updated version, it appears more state of the art.
#2) How did you learn of our website?
39.1% said "surfing the web" 8.6% said "media" 32.6% said "friend/colleague" 6.5% said "employee" 19.5% said "other"
Comments Received: * Originally I googled Village of Dundee when we first moved here but before the website was updated. * Was searching for info on Muy Burrito and saw the link. * I signed up for updates on the previous website, I am a village resident and the old website has always been in my favorites.
#3) On your last visit, what was the primary reason for visiting the website?
33.3% were seeking Village information 11.1% were seeking Village contact information 44.4% were reading news or events 2.2% were reading council minutes 13.3% stated other reasons
Comments Received * I think there could be just a little more information and/or links for the schools on the site. * I needed information from council member * I was looking for the number for the village offic.
#4) How often do you visit our website?
4.4% said they visit daily 35.5% said they visit weekly 42.2% said they visit monthly 6.6% said they visit annually 11.1% said "other"
Comments Received: * When I need Village info. * When in need of info, a phone number, ect. Sometimes when I just want to see if anything on the website has changed.
#5) Which of the following are true? 29.7% said they were able to find exactly what they were looking for 27.6% said they were able to find part of what they were looking for 6.3% said they were able to find something better than what they were looking for 6.3% said they were unable to find what they were looking for 55.3% said they had no specific agenda in mind when they visited 4.2% said "other"
Comments Received: * All of these have applied at different times. * I think the new sight is easier to use, it in my opinion has more information than the old site.

Comments Received: * I will recommend your website to other as a source of information. I don't think it will contain all the information a resident will need, but, since I am new to your site, I have to hold judjement until I am more familiar with it

Live in apt * I like FREE online pay. Thanks to Pat Waterstrat I'm able to make payment on our very large last bill.....1 of our toilets had a leak and we didn't know until Mr. Scheich came out to see why our water bill was more than double what it usually is
#11) How satisfied are you with our mass notification system? 51.1% said they were very pleased 24.4% said they were satisfied 17.7% said they were somewhat satisfied 8.8% said "other"
Comments Received: * I didn't know about the mass notification system for the village. I am signed up for the school's mass notify system * I am new to Dundee * I LOVE this. I think it is very useful * I'm extremely impressed and grateful! * Recieved phone call at home, but not on cell phones on day of test. Great recieving important infowhen I need it. * I really like the communication, it lets us know if bad weather is on the way or any other thing is happening in our area * Is it possible to also add cell phones for notifictaions? If there is a storm or emergency in Dundee, and I am not in the area at the time, I would like to be able to contact my family or neighbors to check on our property, kids, ect... * Also, can school emergency's be added to the mass notification system?

#13) Would you like to see more information in the Village newsletter?
77.7% said Yes 2.2% said No 22.2% said it contained just the right amount of information 2.2% said "other"
Comments Received: * I haven't had a chance to go through the entire site, but local events would be nice. Even events like "Band X" at Thirsty's or small things along that line. I'd like to see what projects are upcoming and status of current projects like the parking lot outside of Molly's Mystic Freeze * instead of putting more info in the newsletter, give highlights of what is on the website with a link * Council meeting notes * Like all new things it will evolve * Maybe meet the village employees, a special section every month or quarter
#14) Are you pleased with the level of communication the Village is doing with the use of the website, newsletter, and survey?

* Keep up the good work Greg * Keep us informed, more info is better than not enough, thanks * There are some great ideas in Dundee, but it seems to take a long time to get these ideas moving. I've been reading about a farmers market all summer long, but it still hasn't started. Soon the farmer's market season will be done. * Ask for help, and use your newsletter to get the help! Your community wants to be a part of what is going on too * Not at this time * Not at this time. I am new to your website * I think you are doing a very good job with it and for the first time, feel like there is somewhere other than the newspapers to get pertinent information in a timely manner. * Not really, it fills all my needs for info about what is going on * Just keep up the good work and keep looking for ways to keep us informed.
